The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph E. Ahaneku, FAS has commissioned a multi-million naira instrument room equipped by the faculty of Physical Sciences.

Commissioning the facilities, Prof. Ahaneku stated that the multi functional facilities will go a long way in helping researchers, teachers, PhD students, visiting researchers in their research and generation of data.

He noted that the presence of such facilities will increase the visibility of the institution. The VC further added that the facilities will not only benefit faculty of Physical Sciences but other science related faculties. He called on other faculties to emulate the Faculty of Physical Sciences in their quest to improve on research.

The Dean of Physical Sciences, Prof. A. J Ekpunobi commended the Vice-Chancellor for his support. He listed the equipment to include Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, UV-VIS Spectrometer, Multiparameter Meter, Conductivity Meter, Binocular Meter, Travelling Microscope, Water Bath, Hot Plate with Magnetic Stirrer, Laptop and Printers.

UNIZIK Supplementary Admission List 2018, UNIZIK Supplementary Admission List Release Date Monday 8th Jan 2018. 

According to Nnamdi Azikiwe University management, they announced recently that a supplementary admission will be released today being Monday 8th Jan 2018.

The reason for this list is to fill the vacancies currently existing in different departments. Also, admission for all remaining Engineering departments will be released the same time.

Additionally, the University has shifted the matriculation of newly admitted students towards the end of January to enable all newly admitted students to conclude their documentation. It is expected that the University will conclude all issues connected with admission before the matriculation date.

In keeping with University tradition of hospitality, the amiable VIce Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Prof Joseph E Ahaneku FAS and the wife Prof Gladys I. Ahaneku on Jan 1 2018 hosted the Chinese community resident in the University to a new year luncheon at their country home at Ahiazu-Mbaise.

It was also to welcome the new Director of Confucius institute of the University Prof Yu and his wife to Nigeria.

Full details of what happened in the Senate Meeting of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka 2017.

In the course of discussion generally about staff productivity in the last Senate meeting, the VIce Chancellor including other Senators condemned truancy, lateness, watching of 'inappropriate' videos including home movies during office hours. No specific mention of any percentage of those watching these movies was made. And also no such word as 'pornography' was mentioned.

As a result the Vice Chancellor added that measures were being taken to monitor and make sure that staff do the work for which they get paid. It is therefore a complete surprise that some persons are peddling falsehood in the media to achieve a hidden objective. While the University appreciates the right of persons to spread information, distorted information could be injurious to society's wellbeing. We therefore implore all our staff, students, alumni, and friends of our great University to please ignore this current machinations of mischief makers whose only aim is to tarnish the hard earned reputation of our University.

Admission Into UNIZIK is Free - Vice Chancellor

ADMISSION INTO UNIZIK IS FREE

Early this morning, while listening with rapt attention to Prof. Harris Ike Odimegwu take us through Metaphysical Anthropology, a particular number kept on calling me repeatedly. It is usual for my phone to ring, at least every now and then because there are lots of issues to confront on a daily basis, solutions to proffer and challenges to surmount that students face on a daily basis. This is something I consider a privilege doing.

While I waited patiently for the class to end, the calls continued unending. I had to deploy my telepathic power, he got the signal and the class ended.

On the other side of the telephone when I called back was a woman, in her mid 40's I guess who spoke in Igbo and English. She called me "Nwabueze" and said she got my number from her daughter, someone I'm yet to meet face to face.

She basically called to inform me she was on her way to the bank to deposit the sum of N70,000 to a fictitious Prof. Emma to help facilitate her daughter's admission into UNIZIK. Her daughter, an aspirant in UNIZIK and my friend here on Facebook had erroneously thought the post for admission assistance was genuine. Of course, after our discussion, her mum had a million reasons to keep her money, she did not fall for the scam.

UNIZIK amiable Vice Chancellor has made the process of getting admission transparent. Let me emphasize that admission into UNIZIK is purely on merit. You don't need to pay anyone to get in.

Always seek for genuine information, continue to remain patient and prayerful. If you are too much in a hurry, you will be heart broken, disappointed and lose your parents money. You have been warned.

UNIZIK resumption date for the 2017/2018 academic year 20th, November, 2017.

Just yesterday I informed the good people of Nnamdi Azikiwe University that the school senate will be sitting today been the 25th of oct 2017 to decide the date of admission contrary to date in circulation by some fraudsters.

On like in the previous years, due to the slight delay in the admission process. This year the Senate has resolved that:

1. Both the old and new students will resume on the same date.

2. The resumption date for the 2017/2018 academic year will be on the 20th of nov 2017.

The Union Executive also wishes to remind Students that the 75% attendance becomes very effective as school resumes this session.

UNIZIK 2017/2018 Admission Cut Off Mark Disclaimer.

There has been a press release purportedly from the University Management, signed by one Prof. Emma Amechi and published on one of the fraudulent Facebook pages using the University name ( https://www.facebook.com/UNIZIKnews/ ) on the release of the cutoff marks.

The Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University wish to inform the general public that the University has not released any admission cut off mark for the 2017/2018 academic session.

There is no such name as Prof. Emma Amechi in the University and thus should be seen as a pseudo name used in disguise to defraud the unsuspecting public.

The General Public are by this information advised to be wary of the desperate activities of these admission racketeers.

The general public are advised to always confirm and verify information about the University from the official website of the University, (unizik.edu.ng) and the official social media accounts of the University :
