NSUK 2017/2018 Students Matriculation Ceremony Date Announced

NSUK 2017/2018 Matriculation Ceremony Date 9th March, 2018, NSUK New Students Orietentation Date Thursday, 8th March, 2018.

Nassarawa State University Jeff (NSUK) management has released the 2017/2018 students’ matriculation ceremony date. According to them the matric comes up on Friday, 9th March, 2018. The exercise will take place at the convocation arena at 10:00am prompt.

NSUK 2018 orientation for new students shall take place on Thursday, 8th March, 2018 at the 1000-seater Auditorium by 10:00am.

Academic Gowns for the ceremony will be shared in their respective faculties beginning from Tuesday, 6th March, 2018. Matriculating students are advised to collect theirs as soon as possible.

Also,  Students must return their academic Gowns on or before Tuesday, 13th March, 2018 to the office of the Dean. Failure to return the Gown on the said date shall attract a payment of #5000 and a sanction.

Note: Any student that has not registered on the day of matriculation consider himself/herself as having forfeited the admission.

NSUK to Graduate 3,000 Students on Her 5th Convocation Event - 2017

 The Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Muhammad Akaro Mainoma while addressing a World Press Conference yesterday at the Senate Chambers revealed some of the snippets of what to expect from the much anticipated NSUK convocation event.



Over 30,000 graduands across seven sets will convocate on Saturday the Vice Chancellor confirmed it.

Professor Mainoma said despite the many challenges that confront the University, the institution has grown from its little beginning when it had just 473 in 2002 to a staggering 17,641 today.

NSUK Vice Chancellor in his speach also revealed that the number of academic programmes have also increased massively from 19 in 2002 to 54 in 2017.

According to the Vice Chancellor,“In addition, NSUK Faculties rose from 3 as at the time of take-off to 7 as at 2017. Just recently, a new Faculty - Faculty of Environmental Sciences was established bringing the total number of Faculties to 8”, he added.

NSUK Post-Graduate programmes have similarly increased to 195 within the period under review, with 40 of the programmes instituted in the last 3 years Professor Mainoma has been in charge.

Presently, three Faculties are engaged in researches worth over $20 million, he said.

On staff, the Vice Chancellor said between 2006 to 2017, “the University appointed 50 home grown Professors from the ranks of its lecturers”.

He noted that research has been “a core mandate” of the University whereupon he created the Directorate of Research and Documentation to coordinate and report various research activities in the University.

In all, the University boosts of 1,124 staff strength shared into 523 academics and 601 non teaching staff.

When is NSUK 2017 Convocation Programme?


The NSUK Convocation is starting tomorrow, 5th May, 2017 with the installation of the Chancellor and the Convocation lecture, to be delivered by Interior Minister, Abdulrahaman Danbazau by 4pm at the Assembly Hall.

Nasarawa State University Convocation Gown Payment/Collection Procedures

Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK), school management have released a notice to Graduands on the procedures to follow to collect their Convocation Gown, how to pay and other important informations.

Nasarawa State University Keffi, NSUK 5th Combined Convocation Ceremony programme of events has been published, graduating students would check the following notice released by the management.

NSUK Gown Collection, Fees Payment for 2017 Convocation


All NSUK graduands should take note of the following:

NSUK convocation Academic Gowns will be available at Faculty Offices at the sum of N2,500 and Postgraduate Gowns at the School of Postgraduates Studies for N5,000.00.

Book of Proceedings are also available at Faculty Offices and School of Postgraduate Studies at the sum of N5,000.00 and N10,000.00 respectively.

Academic Gowns and Book of Proceedings are available for collection from Thursday, 27th April, 2017.

All gowns are to be retuned on or before Tuesday, 8th May, 2017 .

Failure to do so as at when due will attract a fine.

Masters and Ph.D gowns are also available for sale at the School of Postgraduate Studies Souvenir shop.

Nasarawa State University, Keffi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad A. Mainoma On behalf of Council and Senate invites the General Public to the 5th Combined Convocation Ceremony of
Programme of Events which is scheduled as follows: 



Day I: Friday 5 th, May 2017
Investiture of a new Chancellor by 4pm
Convocation Lecture on the topic : “Education and National Security ”.

Speaker: Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, Ph.D
Hon. Minister for Interior, Federal Ministry of Interior, Abuja.

Time : 4:00pm prompt

Vice-Chancellor’s Cocktail at the Assembly Hall.

Time : 7:00pm prompt.

Day II: Saturday 6th , 2017
Award of Bachelor Degrees/Diplomas, Masters Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Degrees and Conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees.

All graduands should bear it in mind that Academic Gowns will be available at Faculty Offices which costs N2,500 and Postgraduate Gowns at the School of Postgraduates Studies for N5,000.00.
